Auntie Jenni Mo's Visit

I just wanted to include some pictures from my sister and her boyfriend, Vinnie's visit this past weekend. i can safely say we all had a blast. Saturday night I actually got a sitter and we all went out. Thanks for the wonderful weekend guys!

Oh- you might notice that I changed my hair color. I did a dark brown base with bright red highlights. I love it! It was so out of my norm so it felt great to take a risk. And I feel it really suits my personality. What do you think?

A Busy Family

We've been a busy bunch the past couple of weeks. Matthew started preschool last week, Natalya is growing and teething, Carlos is volunteering for the Obama Campaign, and I'm working on forming an Artist Way group. My sis and her boyfriend just spent the weekend with us, too. So my head has been spinning- but in the best possible way.

Natalya had her 9-month well baby exam a couple of weeks ago. She weighs 18 lbs. 8 oz. and is 29" tall. She has two bottom teeth and her first upper tooth is not far behind. Actually, I noticed while picking out the picture below, that you can see them. Not a very clear depiction, but you can see them. I GOT A PICTURE OF HER TEETH! YAHOO!!!.... Sorry for the outburst- but nobody would believe the lengths I've gone to in order to document her first teeth for posterity. Her hair is getting so thick. It is really beautiful, and not just because she's mine. She pulls herself up to standing all of the time and cruises around the furniture with ease. When she wakes in the night there are times I've gone in to find her standing up in the crib. I love watching her go from standing to sitting. At first she was very cautious and nervous about it and now she plops herself down so gracefully. She says "maah...mah" whenever she needs something and I am out of the room. She also says "da-da" but not as often, and she's said "ball" twice, actually referring to a ball.

Here are a couple of pics of Matthew's first day of preschool. He was so excited for his first day and it has fulfilled all of his expectations. He has already made a friend, Aden, had homework, and made some art that demands framing. His only complaint his first day was that he missed baby sister.

Like I said before, Carlos has been volunteering for the Obama campaign. He's met a ton of great people and feels great about contributing his time. I think everyone reading this probably received my email about voting but I'd just like to quickly reiterate. Please everyone, take the time to vote this November. Whatever your party affiliation, the important thing is that we all exercise our right to vote. There are countries who don't give their citizens the option of voting for their leaders and policies. Many people fought to give us this privilege and it's a shame when we don't exercise it. So please- familiarize yourself with the issues and give yourself and your children a voice by voting this election.

Preschool Orientation

I can't believe that my little boy is starting preschool. I have been struggling with this- he is growing up so fast. I feel like I might blink my eyes and be at his high school graduation. I don't know if I am ready for him to be starting school. Matthew is certainly ready, however, which lightens "the blow". He is so excited and had such a fun day meeting his teacher and classmates,  getting to explore the classroom. Preschool starts next Monday, and he will go M/W/F from 12 - 3pm. From today until the first drop-off, I will be praying that I make it to the car before completely breaking down in tears.

Enjoy these pictures of orientation.
