Really we didn't need to go anywhere, since our neighbors put on a great fireworks show. Huge, spectacular fireworks. We just pulled up some chairs at the end of the driveway and enjoyed.<div><br /></div><div>The only meltdown that was had was when Talya's above pictured balloon floated away. Luckily she recovered quickly and watched the colorful explosions. Anyone who knows Talya would say that it is no surprise that her favorites were the pink ones.</div>Sara Moriartyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01251728107741824528noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-215534917675458719.post-13749464270820274262011-07-11T20:35:00.000-07:002011-07-11T21:05:59.330-07:00Happenings<div>To be honest, I am a bit reluctant to post on this blog due to the inherent obligation I will feel to maintain it. Especially since I am not sure I can live up to the obligation. There are so many great happenings in our lives right now that I just can't keep the stories and pictures to myself. Plus it will make my mommy happy and that is always worth the risk. :)<div><br /></div><div>Since I have too much to share for just one post, I will leave you with some photos of my littles. Tabor Little League field. This was the first year Matthew was able to play baseball due to age requirements and he loves it. He has been practicing with Carlos and I and sleeping with his gloves under his mattress. <div><br /></div><div>His team, the Orioles, have won all their games and Matty has several hits, runs, and RBI's. It has been a joy to watch his interest in baseball develop. I can definitely see both Carlos' and my competitive spirits in Matthew.<br /><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#0000EE;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="text-decoration: underline;"><br /></span></span></div><br /></div>Sara Moriartyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01251728107741824528noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-215534917675458719.post-64612721725028774192010-04-18T17:07:00.000-07:002010-04-18T17:20:54.471-07:00Playdate<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1GPHM28Y7ZhNd8h7DY67A9kN2XuXRgGhzcjtFdFoBzmp-QB_quF-cDIf3qNnXdhUkaJXVshprhmLNIRacBQn41A3md9_VxB1Xs0AncMNlb003L0F1c7zUEytcvnkyAWU2fdz-I-5_ssw/s1600/matthew-solomon1+4-17-10.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1GPHM28Y7ZhNd8h7DY67A9kN2XuXRgGhzcjtFdFoBzmp-QB_quF-cDIf3qNnXdhUkaJXVshprhmLNIRacBQn41A3md9_VxB1Xs0AncMNlb003L0F1c7zUEytcvnkyAWU2fdz-I-5_ssw/s400/matthew-solomon1+4-17-10.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5461636894406994066" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjro7Tex-RWnEWrhYqKJbCm7bVNlnhvBr-FzGztEsIJhOjKLGI22CAshG2ZKtGuzACEuRWVo3hCvufaUwbPZPXtfd4jWLcSQMCLyn4lBQPsQJGImZnzymtCDydZhlQ-S2Dc0ZR4HGY3d8/s1600/matty-solomon+4-17-10.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 268px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjro7Tex-RWnEWrhYqKJbCm7bVNlnhvBr-FzGztEsIJhOjKLGI22CAshG2ZKtGuzACEuRWVo3hCvufaUwbPZPXtfd4jWLcSQMCLyn4lBQPsQJGImZnzymtCDydZhlQ-S2Dc0ZR4HGY3d8/s400/matty-solomon+4-17-10.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5461633811861731602" /></a>Matthew had a play date with his friend Solomon last week. Carlos' mom Marianne has been in town so we were able to share the day with her. Portland has been very rainy, windy, and cold as of late, so early Easter morning we decided to take advantage of the fact that it was dry outside and have our egg hunt. <div><br /></div><div>Natalya took Matthew's cues and frantically raced around the front yard in search of hidden eggs. She did awesome, finding three eggs. She would find an egg, exclaim "a chicken," put it in her basket, then take it out to re-find it. It was pretty cute. </div><div><br /></div><div>Matthew did a good job of letting Talya find the obvious eggs and really had to search for the rest. He was climbing trees, sliding under cars, and generally dashing around like a lunatic. In the end of it all, both Matty and Talya had fun and were delighted with the loot.</div><div><br /></div><div>The rest of the day was spent relaxing, enjoying each others' company, and preparing and eating a delicious meal. He had a spiral ham, mashed sweet potatoes, and grilled asparagus. Yummy. After we stuffed ourselves, we watched "Sherlock Holmes" and snuggled on the couch. Talk about the perfect day.</div>Sara Moriartyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01251728107741824528noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-215534917675458719.post-12388872755411251802010-03-25T16:26:00.001-07:002010-03-25T16:41:03.195-07:00Splashing in the Sprinkler<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUmTzT9uA49G0FYrfLRDL0JtMsqZWoZ2ctCwzRh8ixpNWPagmpqG2Tl1xGbVToqOJ-X4KFgus0y9t4qhYzPek4R2NxE3Zob7dTx_LxneKEWlv36W2ol4BlL305SSkkZncNoukGthn4vyo/s1600/m&t+collage+3-24-10.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 394px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUmTzT9uA49G0FYrfLRDL0JtMsqZWoZ2ctCwzRh8ixpNWPagmpqG2Tl1xGbVToqOJ-X4KFgus0y9t4qhYzPek4R2NxE3Zob7dTx_LxneKEWlv36W2ol4BlL305SSkkZncNoukGthn4vyo/s400/m&t+collage+3-24-10.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5452717066185685618" /></a>Yes, they really did run through the sprinklers when it was only 68 degrees outside. I heard about it during an e-course that I took recently and this was my first time using it. And boy was it EASY, FAST and FREE. I created my account, uploaded these photos, and created the collage in under 15 minutes. I will definitely be using Picnik over Picasa from now on. Check it out. </div><div><br /></div><div>Please note, that I used the free version but there is an upgrade available, for $24.95 per year. I am considering upgrading because I think the price is reasonable and I've heard great things about it.</div>Sara Moriartyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01251728107741824528noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-215534917675458719.post-62750045747055077802010-03-22T21:40:00.001-07:002010-03-22T21:51:41.267-07:00They're crafty<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgN4-MuGMp5Vkdm0btQ_JutioXT7mxKisGpeYVVD5F7M7CYha1I-piXzm1jx_Bs-QcOwwXBpux8-MBWokpxzJj5U7MYi97lOcIT-g4oHgAGETEKq7ZVn1HdwUIAZuUDxlAfyS1x3vi6TJk/s1600-h/DSC02729.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 268px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgN4-MuGMp5Vkdm0btQ_JutioXT7mxKisGpeYVVD5F7M7CYha1I-piXzm1jx_Bs-QcOwwXBpux8-MBWokpxzJj5U7MYi97lOcIT-g4oHgAGETEKq7ZVn1HdwUIAZuUDxlAfyS1x3vi6TJk/s400/DSC02729.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5451685146851863634" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwqi-_AifFBBCceaMmtUjNMbcKWjTKqfIqW_dOShzj35Bgdk4tNUj-ZMYrPE6LWpM00ZqunL6n80aMr9EzrStYmSq2J622ztlcX3rTdlCgdiTHcAEFIvCvwUYdqM7ry6y1hOL0jINSRDU/s1600-h/DSC02710.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 268px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwqi-_AifFBBCceaMmtUjNMbcKWjTKqfIqW_dOShzj35Bgdk4tNUj-ZMYrPE6LWpM00ZqunL6n80aMr9EzrStYmSq2J622ztlcX3rTdlCgdiTHcAEFIvCvwUYdqM7ry6y1hOL0jINSRDU/s400/DSC02710.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5451685134229279250" /></a>I love watching Matthew and Talya create. Children are spontaneous and free in their art, something that adult artists have to strive for. It is obvious that the process is more important to them than the product. I try to steer clear of my adult programming while they are crafting, not allowing myself to worry about the mess I'll have to clean up. Yes, even when Talya is clapping her paint-covered hands together, splashing paint in places yet to be discovered.Sara Moriartyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01251728107741824528noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-215534917675458719.post-39213159445882256162010-03-19T14:04:00.001-07:002010-03-19T14:10:04.455-07:00love note<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD5gCK-BfMOHtS50WlQdVwdu1ASepgRovMFMLxPp8RvjzSHFfSk0gQiUlVjfavkqAERwfvBgjEXWeHtKcvYaxjCBvDB60YUQnZbBlOS9wMv1ie2gVNMgpE4HonBjI8IaX3xu-ZF63Ys_E/s1600-h/DSC02888.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 268px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD5gCK-BfMOHtS50WlQdVwdu1ASepgRovMFMLxPp8RvjzSHFfSk0gQiUlVjfavkqAERwfvBgjEXWeHtKcvYaxjCBvDB60YUQnZbBlOS9wMv1ie2gVNMgpE4HonBjI8IaX3xu-ZF63Ys_E/s400/DSC02888.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5450454013252795074" /></a>On the 26th of April, Carlos and I will have been together for nine years. Thankfully, I love him more and more as time goes by. To avoid becoming complacent in our relationship, I sneak in love notes here and there, to surprise him and remind him that he's my main squeeze. This one will greet him when he returns home from work.Sara Moriartyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01251728107741824528noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-215534917675458719.post-23354009825531093592010-03-17T22:33:00.000-07:002010-03-17T22:59:48.227-07:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCdrHRcnqrocqA9cZGIWBPm1YY7sZzOjhU55UKde4aMlmHwsDKrTZ58S-6UibS-8aqQdZuxN037VQ6fc_OeltLa6rmzK5hOoCXHANCz4AtBAkYHTLPnKyvkX3i5MTd0_U4V5ePqM0d-UM/s1600-h/DSC02863.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 268px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCdrHRcnqrocqA9cZGIWBPm1YY7sZzOjhU55UKde4aMlmHwsDKrTZ58S-6UibS-8aqQdZuxN037VQ6fc_OeltLa6rmzK5hOoCXHANCz4AtBAkYHTLPnKyvkX3i5MTd0_U4V5ePqM0d-UM/s400/DSC02863.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5449842887838990674" /></a>Often I wish I could ask her what she is thinking. A part of her personality it very intense and contemplative. It is curious to watch and daydream about what she is focusing on and what she thinks about. I also wonder how much she will reveal once she is able to communicate freely. I see her maintaining a degree of mystery and reserve throughout her life.<div><br /></div><div>Writing this makes me question my idiosyncrasies as a child, what traits my mom identified in me when I was young and how she thought they would translate as I grew into adulthood. </div><div><br /></div><div>I was recently reading about a father who keeps what he calls a "<a href="http://penelopeloveslists.com/organize/the-legacy-letter-guest-post/">Legacy Letter</a>." Daily, he writes a quick something regarding whatever is on his mind or currently going on in their lives. What prompted him to start the log was the fact that his parents didn't remember specifics when he became interested in knowing what life was like, and what he was like, when he was a child. The log was his solution to the possibility that he may forget the details eventually. </div><div><br /></div><div>What a brilliant (and dedicated) idea. He likes to see what he needs to do and what he has already done. Because of this I am looking for a chore board or chore check list to keep a visual record of his to-do's and done's. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 238); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; "><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihyphenhyphenOngg-AWm5d5CUdwn5MmkRmJzk8Eu4_aF_X0Gi0nD_pIG4JI1MD4nKG44Suof9wnU-1r1E2EzkGm5B9mGIbCVOnHAOjA9mGBHOxTShllIcqOBDOro87KYa_t0HqCTxUavMXES8pBmtE/s400/MD685.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5431297945075954290" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 365px; height: 400px; " /></span></div><div style="text-align: left;">I first saw <a href="http://www.fatbraintoys.com/toy_companies/melissa_doug/new_magnetic_responsibility_chart.cfm">this one</a> at a local toy shop. Loving that this version is very comprehensive and the dry erase bottom section would come in handy. However, it looks a little too "day-care center" for me. Is it vain to expect the chore board have a certain aesthetic, one that I would not shudder at seeing on my wall? I think not. :) Particularly since I need it to be in a central location, the kitchen, to use it properly. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">So my search continued. <a href="http://www.etsy.com/">Etsy</a> has several options, a bit more suited to my tastes. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjz4OYdva6NHKf52aC0NXWC-7PH0ltMlBGa-_EBGKqgrRYL5xxg4iO2aQ1cKlYFY1qDBSWyi8YW7sZABLya9finepYITjLgebjMP6-NBTeu4O2q0ZINdKkoD2XT1KV2QwMwb-01KjRWZMs/s1600-h/il_430xN.112664001.jpg"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjz4OYdva6NHKf52aC0NXWC-7PH0ltMlBGa-_EBGKqgrRYL5xxg4iO2aQ1cKlYFY1qDBSWyi8YW7sZABLya9finepYITjLgebjMP6-NBTeu4O2q0ZINdKkoD2XT1KV2QwMwb-01KjRWZMs/s400/il_430xN.112664001.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5431300188477236002" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px; " /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">This is from <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/soapstarmom">soapstarmom</a> who offers additional chore cards as well.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoB-maV_RwoKp-f_bWa4Lc_zqIWOU1fQxo4C67xjAHp2xcg0k6bwZMgpU1cXN2cMARpP0A7aguaYV3aGj8H4GOXwnnDnDW6IGWipljxxHQ7VIGyRQTbmSf1o54_Bfk7rddxr8QLx2YJeA/s1600-h/il_fullxfull.117586680.jpg"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoB-maV_RwoKp-f_bWa4Lc_zqIWOU1fQxo4C67xjAHp2xcg0k6bwZMgpU1cXN2cMARpP0A7aguaYV3aGj8H4GOXwnnDnDW6IGWipljxxHQ7VIGyRQTbmSf1o54_Bfk7rddxr8QLx2YJeA/s400/il_fullxfull.117586680.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5431301123535396482" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px; " /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=38990827">AbbiesHouse</a> is another great option, also offering additional chore magnets.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">And these are only a few of the choices out there. Matthew just loves Halloween. We decorated the house at the beginning of October and counted down to the day. Talya wasn't happy unless she had her foot inside the plastic pumpkin and once we took pictures of her in her costume she started tugging at it, saying, "All done." It goes without saying that she wasn't nearly as enthusiastic. <div><br /></div>Sara Moriartyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01251728107741824528noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-215534917675458719.post-46428974054965171602009-12-03T16:25:00.000-08:002009-12-04T15:31:19.375-08:00My 2nd Birthday, by Talya<div style="text-align: center;"><b><i>My</i></b> second birthday. I love anything that starts with "<i><b>my</b></i>" but an entire day in <i><b>my</b></i> honor really takes the cake. I even had a pin that said "Birthday Princess." And a princess I was. He weighs in at over 70 pounds and still has plenty of skin to grow in to. </div><div><br /></div><div>I had been looking for another dog at the Humane Society for almost a year now, but never settled on anything. However, fate interceded. Buddy's original owner bought the dog for their three young boys and quickly found out that for one, the boys were not interested in taking care of a puppy, and two, that he was going to be a large dog by the time he reached adulthood. So, they gave the pup to our neighbor. Unfortunately for Buddy, our neighbor has an older, female dog who was not interested in having a playmate. Especially not a rambunctious puppy. Last Sunday, as Carlos and Matthew were walking home from the barber shop, the neighbor asked Carlos if we were interested in getting a second dog, he came home with them, and everyone fell in love at first sight.</div><div><br /></div><div>Buddy has a great personality and instantly fit right in. He is exuberant, but at the same time is very cuddly and loving. He follows me around the house and lays down where ever I am, keeping me company. He is gentle with the kids and Max loves having someone to romp around with. Honestly, I couldn't have designed a dog that would gel with our family as well. </div><div><br /></div><div>The <a href="http://www.oregonhumane.org/">Oregon Humane Society</a> has a campaign running called <a href="http://www.oregonhumane.org/adopt/End_Petlessness.asp">End Petlessness</a> that I absolutely adore. The campaign focuses on the positive impact that pets have on their owners. I don't think anyone can deny that having an animal puts a smile on your face on a daily basis. So lets all do our part to end petlessness.<br /><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div></div>Sara Moriartyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01251728107741824528noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-215534917675458719.post-55866602247946099052009-09-29T13:31:00.000-07:002009-09-29T13:38:09.363-07:00health and heart.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2Pi3EirHegKDis3V4rmfudIevriZyMfcODhLL1N8BlSVRXh8vNdcxGCnk-9bRROid6Q2zvfLrR0-Nm_j3HhyCkhF54xGcsxz7aemGF6-8wrXnZNtgbRG1NjkhRKDORDN_uxMWYl5oCzk/s1600-h/DSC02209.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 268px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2Pi3EirHegKDis3V4rmfudIevriZyMfcODhLL1N8BlSVRXh8vNdcxGCnk-9bRROid6Q2zvfLrR0-Nm_j3HhyCkhF54xGcsxz7aemGF6-8wrXnZNtgbRG1NjkhRKDORDN_uxMWYl5oCzk/s400/DSC02209.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5386989851338654210" /></a>I have had the most unpleasant cold for the past week so I haven't been taking many pictures. My days are filled with hot tea, Airbourne, spending all day in my pj's, and rest, rest, resting. Thankfully, I have an awesome man. Carlos has been taking care of the kids, cooking, and generally picking up my slack while I try to recover. <div><br /></div><div>So since I don't have any new photos of my babies, I thought I'd share a heart-shaped leaf that I found at my mom's house during my most recent visit. </div><div><br /></div><div>Send me get well mojo. </div>Sara Moriartyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01251728107741824528noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-215534917675458719.post-27542946138230693912009-09-25T16:05:00.001-07:002009-09-25T16:23:41.472-07:00laurelhurst park<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyGRGHEVTH7DKzgBECM2i4Zk5gXh3Z56fDT95SJIv1g16LdNHac-bEgTad_KBLPPtRGjIxz77p5r_gUcdnuRpcRjB4VARq0lHwpB2oIYyREKFjT8zwZk_wziBmYBBbDpMYTpET2L4vJmY/s1600-h/DSC02238.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 268px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyGRGHEVTH7DKzgBECM2i4Zk5gXh3Z56fDT95SJIv1g16LdNHac-bEgTad_KBLPPtRGjIxz77p5r_gUcdnuRpcRjB4VARq0lHwpB2oIYyREKFjT8zwZk_wziBmYBBbDpMYTpET2L4vJmY/s400/DSC02238.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5385546044765211250" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlDSjUBMwYfACddrjla2rNWtw5GSu4nu35VWI63NN0nHTn-w_LAWM0YKmBJEGDoWw3Vagoi3aEEj_8Lr0hcHvxTXbFqcI4RGZwvwnXBtuk2_el0RY0FcWjxx13CiVlxIPYP-tIoxDJklU/s1600-h/DSC02250.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 268px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlDSjUBMwYfACddrjla2rNWtw5GSu4nu35VWI63NN0nHTn-w_LAWM0YKmBJEGDoWw3Vagoi3aEEj_8Lr0hcHvxTXbFqcI4RGZwvwnXBtuk2_el0RY0FcWjxx13CiVlxIPYP-tIoxDJklU/s400/DSC02250.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5385546036427762402" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxAhDgH0dPAnseHYZPNP9jEE0inlVNu7wSOM0dEEj1D08zOCGbLMTpj-DQUd9wKnOEfwOYqYSFNs4wLu21nexmXhd0UU5FkPhTBxRmRLPrFtVvbGaUNkmBOOWviUC3EPsUZ219-1AcBHg/s1600-h/DSC02249.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 268px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxAhDgH0dPAnseHYZPNP9jEE0inlVNu7wSOM0dEEj1D08zOCGbLMTpj-DQUd9wKnOEfwOYqYSFNs4wLu21nexmXhd0UU5FkPhTBxRmRLPrFtVvbGaUNkmBOOWviUC3EPsUZ219-1AcBHg/s400/DSC02249.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5385546027252062258" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0i9v1aSL7tIvh8eIrXvFJDX8kO68Fqj01fFpe1KPgIjgEUvcqSj_RP3csaJ9GoLD9q-d-QKRofRLUSeFKJufmGVZnd_B6rJ9g7EGbbyzvxKNnxQjnPqS9Kad05UFyAnf25rAMDI5SxJw/s1600-h/DSC02241.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 268px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0i9v1aSL7tIvh8eIrXvFJDX8kO68Fqj01fFpe1KPgIjgEUvcqSj_RP3csaJ9GoLD9q-d-QKRofRLUSeFKJufmGVZnd_B6rJ9g7EGbbyzvxKNnxQjnPqS9Kad05UFyAnf25rAMDI5SxJw/s400/DSC02241.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5385546015114574498" /></a>a few weekends ago we went to laurelhurst park. it is a ginormous, and beautiful park. really, we couldn't get over how big is it. despite the flurry of activity going on in all the park's nooks and crannies, the sense of calm was undeniable. we spent four hours there, playing on the play structures, feeding the ducks, watching a juggling class. as you can see from the photo, matthew accidentally kicked his shoes into the pond. we had to wait for it to float downstream before i could grab it out. i've washed that shoe twice already and still every time he wears it his feet smell like pond scum at the end of the day. (yuck!)<div><br /></div><div>i find that it is so easy to fall into routine in life. the same parks. same restaurants. same everything. i have to admit that there is still so much of portland that we haven't explored. yet when we do try new places, break through habit and routine, it is so rewarding. so here's to uncharted territory and new adventures.</div>Sara Moriartyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01251728107741824528noreply@blogger.com4
