Natalya's First Tooth

I have been trying, unsuccessfully, since Sunday to capture Talya's first tooth with my camera. So far, the score is 0 to 1,000. She should be very proud of herself and her ability to foil my every attempt. The only thing I haven't tried is pulling her sweet little lip down and snapping a picture while she's sleeping. I'm not sure why, but I think that is crossing the line. So until I can out-smart her, you'll just have to take my word that Talya has a gleaming white tooth making her smile even cuter than before!

About the Watermelon Margarita Post

I modified the Watermelon Margarita recipe a little, based on dedicated taste-testing, and wanted to share it with everyone. Although the recipe calls for 1 1/2 cups of fresh-squeezed lime juice, I found that the juice from three average limes works better. I don't even bother to measure it.  It is enough to compliment the watermelon and give a citrus punch, but not over-power the drink. Happy testing!

Never Seen a Boy Wear 5 Shirts

Matthew has been exercising his individuality lately, waking up and immediately dressing himself. I've been extremely impressed (and a little surprised) that he usually manages to pick out a cute, matching outfit for himself. He must get that from me ;-) On this morning, he woke up and dressed himself, came out to the living room, and proudly announced, "You've never seen a boy wear five shirts!" My little trend-setter!

Breakfast with Anthony

Carlos' brother, Anthony, was in town for business so we met for brunch. We went to Sanborn's: a great restaurant with extremely S...L...O...W... service. I actually had to ask the waitress when our food was coming, since we saw people come after us, order, and eat their food before we'd been served. Although he had a tight schedule and was heading to the airport to fly to Medford, Ant never acted anxious or rushed and just enjoyed the time he had with us- which is far and few since him and his family live in San Diego. It was a great visit and Carlos and I left wishing we were able to see him more often.

Creative Project

Matthew and I love doing creative projects together. I am always so inspired by him because he knows no "rules" when it comes to art and being creative. He just does whatever makes him happy and proud. Which in turn, makes me happy and proud.

This is a stepping stone with glow-in-the-dark stars and glitter mosaic...
